At least five inmates and detainees were injured in a clash at District prison of Ghorahi on May 3.
In a clash, 32 years old Diplesen Oli, 30 years old Aditya Bagale, 26 years old Sushil Rokaya, 26 years old damber Kawar and 30 years old Prem Prasad Oli were injured according to jailer Bishnu Prasad Pandey .
According to jailer Pandey, they sustained serious injuries in their hands and were already discharged.
The injured are prison guard and inmates according to the prison administration. The inmates and detainees attacked prison guard and leaders in the mid night after their demands on drinking water were not solved. The situation is under control according to prison administration.
The district prison has a capacity to accommodate 60 inmates and detainees however there are 317 inmates and detainees.
Investigation committee formed
Three member investigation committee is formed to investigate the incident. The committee is formed in leadership with officer Amar Raj Sharma of DAO. The committee will present the report regarding the issue of inmates and detainees within three days according to CDO Govinda Rijal.
