Police have arrested Raj Kumar Sonar, 29, of Sugauli, India at Birgunj on February 2. Sonar, who has been operating a business in Birgunj, has been accused of selling two teenage girls of Chaugadha in HetaudaN.P.6 in India by luring them of jobs.
The district police office Hetauda has filed a case of human trafficking against Sonar at the district court.
The two girls who were sold in Delhi on January 21 were rescued by Maiti Nepal with the help from Indian Police. They were brought back to Hetauda on January 31.
Sonar had taken them to Delhi via Ruksaul. They managed to escape from the brothel and reported to the nearby police office. Maiti India later informed Maiti Nepal which rescued them, chief of Maiti Nepal Hetauda Maya Lama said.
The victims filed a case against Sonar upon returning Hetauda. Police have brought Sonar to Hetauda after arresting him from Birgunj.
