A complaint was lodged on May 25 against Mohammad Rabani Kawari of Loharpatti municipality-2 in Mahottari on the charge of trafficking a 17-year-old girl to India by marrying her. 

Mohammad had taken the victim to India by marrying her around 4 months ago. It was found that Mohammad had actually sold her in a brothel in India. The incident became public only after the victim came back to Nepal after running away from the brothel. The victim who came sick went home after undergoing treatment at Janakpur Zonal hospital.

SP Sekhar Khanal of District Police Office said police are further investigating on the incident.
