A girl has died while sleeping inside the Chaupadi shed on February 2. Laxmi Buda, 16, of Dhakari4 died while observing the practice of Chaupadi.
This is second incident of death inside Chaupadhi shed in a month's time.
District police office said that Laxmi who was sleeping alone was found dead in the morning. DSP Sushil Singh Rathaur said that the deceased's feet had been burnt.
Family of the girl had informed the Dhakari police post after finding her dead. Police have brought the deceased's body to the district hospital for post-mortem on February 3.
Police have suspected a fire in the shed and epilepsy the reason for her death. The deceased, an epilepsy patient, was frothing at the mouth when she was found dead.
Jhuma Devi Shahi, 40, of Barala6 had also died while sleeping inside the Chaupadhi shed on the night of January 15.
Chhaupadi is a social tradition observed in the western parts of Nepal in which Hindu women are prohibited from participating in normal activities during menstruation. The women are kept out of the house and have to live in a shed during her period.
