Citizen's Campaign Makes Brief Election Observation Report Public

Lalitpur/November 20, Secretariat of Citizen's Campaign for Clean Election (CCCE) INSEC has made the brief observation report on Constituent Assembly Elections-2013 public on November 19. According to the report, the election took place peacefully with some minor incidents. "Overall the election was held in a peaceful manner; however, we urged for re-polling in 20 polling stations in Gorkha – 15 in constituency 1 and 5 in other constituencies – where irregularities have taken place. We call on the Election Commission to take appropriate steps if re-polling is needed by investigation the voting process in some polling stations of Dhading, Dolakha, and Gulmi. Detail report will be made public immediately on issues regarding making the election biometric and other electoral reforms," the report stated. Meanwhile, the report has been handed over to the EC. A team of CCCE led by INSEC Chairperson and coordinator of CCCE Subodh Raj Pyakurel handed over the report on November 20. The CCCE had mobilized 300 election observers across the country.
