Tension ran high at Siddharthanagar City Hospital after the death of 26-year-old, Birendra Agrahari of Siyari Rural Municipality-3, Jungghatha during Kidney Dialysis.
The deceased's brother Surendra Agrahari claimed that the patient died due to negligence of the hospital . On June 11 Birendra's dialysis was done for the first time by Kidney specialist Dr. Subodh Kumar Pandey. The patient died during the second dialysis done by other health workers in the absence of Dr. Subodh on Friday.
According to the deceased's brother Surendra, doctors started dialysis on his brother by transfusing 2 pints of blood and left to attend other patients keeping them waiting for 3 hours. The victim died at 6:00 pm in the evening.
Relatives of the deceased have demanded an investigation into the incident and demanded to provide compensation to the victim's family.
Medical Officer of the hospital Dr. Amit Chaturvedi claimed that there was no negligence of the hospital and doctors in the treatment. Security personnel have been deployed to prevent unpleasant incidents at the hospital
