Two people, who were injured in the attack by unidentified men at Maikot inRukum East while collecting Yarsagumba, were rescued in a helicopter.
38-year-old Jun Kumari Pun and her 14-year-old daughter Rashmi Pun of Utarganga Rural Municipality-1 were attacked with a sharp weapon. The attackers looted money and jewellery while they were returning home after collecting Yarsagumba.
They were attacked on Saturday and both injured were sent to Kathmandu for further treatment on Sunday, said Rukum East Chief District Officer Mitra Lal Sharma.
