Students of Siddhakali Secondary School have shut down the school on January 31 protesting the beating of ninth grader Bhagwati Amgai by the principal Pashupati Dhakal.

According to a student Shiva Amgai, they shut down the school demanding action against Dhakal.

Dhakal had beaten Bhagwati on January 29 accusing her going against the school rules by growing long nails and putting nail polish. Injured Bhagwati was treated at a local medical clinic in Arughat.<
