Police on Friday morning has arrested the ‘self-proclaimed goddess’ Bishnu Kunwar from Balaju on the charge of torturing a young girl in the name of exorcising evil spirit from her.
The incident has come to the fore after a video that shows Bishnu Kunwar torturing a young girl at Bhadrakali temple located in front of the Singhadurbar went viral on social media.
Kunwar was summoned to the police station for interrogation on the incident after the video went viral. Police has also asked the victim to file a legal case against the self-proclaimed goddess Kunwar.
According to Butwal Police, Kunwar is a permanent resident of Lakhanpath- Kalikanagar.
Kunwar’s cruel treatment toward the young girl has provoked public outcry after the video went viral.
