45-year-old Sumitra Chai and her daughter-in-law Rita Chai of Suddhodhan rural municipality-6 have accused the police of refusing to register complaint against landlord of the same rural municipality, 50-year-old Bankeshar Yadav and 52-year-old Subdar Kurmi who they accuse of repeatedly beating them.
According to the victims, Yadav and Kurmi who had been repeatedly beating them since the past one month, last beat them on June 27. The District Police Office refused to register a complaint they filed against the duo.
Sumitra and her daughter-in-law Rita had been using a land offered to them by Taramati Kewat of Suddhodhan rural municipality-6 who had adopted Rita as a daughter. After Kewat's death Bankeshar Yadav beat the two women laying claim over land and tried to evict them.
According to the victims, DSP Debendra Pande returned them saying them to seek the help of the court instead of police.
