Nepal Press Union Kaski demonstrated against Media Council Bill tabled at Parliament in Kaski on Thursday.
Demanding the withdrawal of the bill which according to journalists aim to control the press, journalists associated with the Union took out a demonstration rally from Mahendra bridge to B.P chowk.
Addressing the corner assembly after the demonstration, Nepal Press Union's Central Vice-President Ramesh Paudel said that the bill is condemnable and against democracy. All the journalists should unite against the government which is trying to take away their rights.
Dr. Balraj Upadhya Regmi, adviser of Press Union Kaski, emphasized that not just journalists but also the civilians should protest against Media Council Bill.
Nabin Sigdel, President of Press Union Kaski, pressurized to amend the bill which will be cutting off the full press freedom if executed.
