Indra Kumar Chepang of Rapti Municipality-13, Chitawan shot 35-year-old Ramji Chepang, a ward member of Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-8. Ward Member Chepang has sustained deep injury on his head as a result of the attack. 

Rural Municipality Chairperson Hari Dallakoti informed that, Chepang is receiving treatment in Intensive Care Unit at Norvic Hospital in Kathmandu.

Indra Kumar Chepang was absconding since a month after raping two girls. Chepang is also accused of assaulting, threatening and intimidating locals.

According to Spokesperson Rupak Khadka of district Police Office Dhading, a team of police has been deployed to arrest the accused.
