CPN cadres lock up Jajarkot local offices

Cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal padlocked five local level offices in Jajarkot district last night. CPN cadres locked up the offices of two municipalities, one rural municipality and eight wards.

Offices of Chhedagada Municipality, Nalgad Municipality were padlocked. They also locked up the chief administrative officer of Barekot Rural and Municipality. Likewise, the office of Ward No 1 of Bheri Municipality and offices of wards 3, 5, 8, 11 and 12 of Nalgad Municipality were locked.

Offices of ward 8 of Kushe Rural Municipality and ward 13 of Chhedagada Municipality were locked as well. No damage, however, was caused to the local level offices, said the people's representatives.

CPN cadres had left party pamphlets outside the locked offices. The increased activities of the banned political outfit have unleashed terror among people's representatives. Police broke open the offices of all padlocked local levels, said Inspector Keshar Bahadur Karki of District Police office, Jajarkot. Chand's cadres had also planted a sutali bomb in the office of Barekot Rural Municipality's chairperson a few days ago.

A Nepali Army team had defused the improvised explosive device after ii hours.
