Police have arrested two cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) from Damauli bazaar area in Tanahun district, on Tuesday.
Police identified the arrestees as district member Netra Prasad Thapa, 36, of Keshavtar in Byas Municipality-14 and Yuva Sangathan Nepal Tanahun Secretary Bishnu Kumar Shrestha, 30, of Bhakunthok in Bhanu Municipality-2 in the district.
According to District Police Office, Tanahun, Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lila Raj Lamichanne, two cadres affiliated to Biplav-led NCP were arrested while distributing political manifestos, pamphlets and another documents in Damauli bazaar today.
Police have filed treason charges against the duos and presented them before the District Court Tanaun today and remanded in custody for further investigation, police said.
Meanwhile, further investigation is underway.
