The victim's party filed a complaint on July 23 against 50-year-old Ram Niwas Patel, 45-year-old Ram Babu Prasad Kurmi, 40-year-old Kapil Patel, 30-year-old Sharma Patel, 26-year-old Raj Kumar Patel, 21-year-old Santosh Patel, and 18-year-old Jayaram Patel accusing them of assaulting 75-year-old Hajara Dusad and his wife Ramba Devi of Devtal Rural Municipality-1.

Ram Babu Prasad Kurmi and his wife went to the victim's house on July 21 to call them for rice plantation. When Dusad said that he was not feeling well, Kurmi told him that he had to come anyhow. 

Later on the same day, the accused came to the victim's house and assaulted Dusad and his wife with bamboo sticks and rod. The victims are receiving treatment at Gandak Hospital in Birgunj after primary treatment at Kalaiya Hospital.
