An unidentified group detonated an Improvised Explosive Device near Ugreshwor Mahadev temple in Banepa municipality of Kabhre on Tuesday night. District Police Office Kabhre confirmed the incident of the detonation. DPO Kabhre chief SP Jayaraj Sapkota said "We have received the report of the detonation and have sent a police team to the site of the incident. We have not received any information of damage or casualty yet. "

Since the detonation occurred on the eve of Bagmati bandh called by Netra Bikram Chand led group, police suspect its involvement in the incident.
