Minister Announces Far West Bandh

Minister of Commerce and Supplies, Lekh Raj Bhatta protesting the report recently submitted by the State Restructuring Commission to the government has announced Far West bandh for February 10.

 

Speaking at a program organized in the capital on February 5, Minister Bhatta, who is also chairperson of Seti Mahakali Rastriya Mukti Morcha, said that he SRC has suggested name of Kaptad Karnali State with its capital in Surkhet, however, the State cannot cover the sentiment of entire far western region.

 

Minister Bhatta said that the Morha has called far western region bandh to protest the report of the SRC on February 10.

 

Saying that the State that will be formed by erasing the identity and unity of Seti and Mahakali will not be acceptable to the people far western region, he said, adding that Morcha will torch SRC report on February 6 as the report has neglected the existence, history and culture of the far west.

 

Morcha's other protest programs include sending memorandum to Prime Minister, CA chairperson and chairperson of constitutional committee through DAOs on February 7 and staging traffic strikes and torch rallies on February 9.
