According to the District Police Office, Baitadi, a group of unidentified persons set fire to the tower of Nepal Telecom in Dillasheni Village-4, Mathairaj Balali. The batteries and wires in the tower were destroyed by the fire, said police inspector Deepak Patali of Baitadi.

Police suspect that the leader of Netra Bikram Chand Biplav may have set fire. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said. As the fire broke out at the Nepal Telecom Tower, the citizens of the area were disconnected. Local Narendra Bista said telecommunication service around the area was disrupted due to the fire on the tower.

Earlier on July 31, a group of unidentified people opened fire and vandalized at the tower of Ncell at Udapathar Kundidhar, ward no. 1 of Pachundi Municipality of Baitadi.
