An unidentified gang has brutally murdered an elderly couple at Bowang in Dhorpatan municipality-8 of Baglung district, in province 4, on Sunday, police said.
According to the Spokesperson of District Police Office, Baglung, and Superintendent of Police (SP), Jhabindra Bhattarai, an elderly couple–Bhumbahadur BK, 61, and his wife Vima BK, 60,–were murdered when they were sleeping in a shed near farm field on yesterday night.
Locals had informed police about the incident after spotting Bhimbahadur motionless body in a nearby farm field and Vima’s body lying in a pool of blood inside the shed this morning, SP Bhattarai shared.
Looking into the nature of the incident, sharp weapons like axe might have been used in the crime as there are multiple deep cuts in their heads, SP Bhattarai shared.
The incident site is in six-hour walking distance from Burtibang in the district. Police are preparing to send the bodies to Burtibang for autopsy.
Meanwhile, further investigation is underway, police said.
