Police rescued a five-year-old boy from the clutches of kidnappers yesterday evening.
Five-year-old Shivam Yadav of Bandipur in Karjanha Municipality-2, Siraha, was kidnapped from home by his relative on Tuesday. He was rescued from Bishnupur Rural Municipality-5, Sarlahi. Police arrested the kidnapper Sobhit Mukhiya of Sitadadhi, India, from Bishnupur. Mukhiya was a kin of the minor’s family and was staying with them. He was made public amidst a press conference on the premises of District Police Office, Siraha, today. Sobhit abducted the kid to settle a score with his mother Sukhanidevi, who he thought had helped his wife to elope.
“Mukhiya had got married seven months ago. After his wife eloped, he decided to abduct the minor thinking that he could then pressurize the boy’s mother to bring back his wife,” said DSP Apiraj Bohara at the press conference. Earlier, Mukhiya used to live near Sukhanidevi’s home. He fell in love with Surekhadevi Yadav of Baltiya of Karjanha-1. He had started living with Sukhanidevi’s family after he married the girl he loved.
