The Sarisawa (Srisia in Nepal) River Rescue Movement and Youth Support Team staged demonstration at Raxaul and submitted a memorandum to Amit Kumar, Monitoring Officer, on Friday.
Professor Doctor Anil Kumar Sinha, the activist of the struggle, drew the attention of Amit Kumar saying that the Birgunj Metropolitan City was not serious about pollution of Sarisawa river. He also showed a bottle of contaminated water flowing in the Sarisawa river and urged to take initiative from their level to prevent pollution. They drew the attention as the pollution in the river was not prevented and the Sarisawa river got more polluted due to the garbage collection in Dasgaja area by Birgunj Metropolitan City as well as people in the area had difficulty in mobility.
On the occasion, Amit Kumar, the Monitoring Officer, said that he has been drawing the attention of Parsa's Chief District Office regarding the pollution of Sarisawa river.
Professor Doctor Sinha informed that the memorandum submitted to the Amit Kumar officer will also be sent to the Government of Nepal and Government of India.
On the occasion, Amit Kumar, the Commissioner, said that the Praska district was paying attention to the pollution of Sreesia river.
