Police arrested seven persons from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15 on the charge of kidnapping, on Saturday.
They have been accused of kidnapping Pemba Tamang (23) of Dupcheshwar Rural Municipality-1 in Nuwakot, currently living in Phutung of Tarkeshwar Municipality-5, Kathmandu on Saturday.
The arrestees have been identified as Purna Bahadur Waiba (42) of Ghyangle Rural Municipality-2 in Sindhuli, Raju Khadgi (53) of Bafal in Kathmandu-13, Palsang Tamang (41) of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-9 of Rasuwa, Rajesh Gurung (39) of Mahendra Municipality-7 in Sunsari, Jis Ghale (35) of Thuman Rural Municipality-9 of Rasuwa, Lila Thapa Magar (32) and Shiva Ram Thapa Magar (31) of Doranga Rural Municipality-7 of Ramechhap.
After receiving a report of Pemba Tamang being forced into a vehicle near Makalu Petrol Pump in Kalanki of Kathmandu-14 by an unidentified group, police had deployed a rapid team for the investigation, search and rescue operation. The team found Tamang being held in the house belonging to Arjun Lama at Chhauni of Kathmandu-15 and rescued him.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, informed Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati.
