Biplav-led CPN cadre arrested in Panchthar

A special police unit deployed from District Police Office, Panchthar, apprehended Biplav-led CPN party district secretary Bijaya Limbu yesterday evening, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, Limbu was arrested on the charge of extortion bid from various organisations, businessmen and others in the district, according to DPO Chief Siddha Raj Neupane.
Police presented the arrested cadre before the District Court today itself and remanded in custody for further investigation.
Ever since the government announced an absolute ban on the Biplav-led CPN, two key leaders of the party’s standing committee — member Hemanta Prakash Oli and politburo member Mohan Karki along with other cadres have been arrested across the nation.
