Police have arrested three persons involved in the murder of a hermit in Dadeldhura. Dadelram Neupane, deputy superintendent of police in Dadeldhura, said that two local juveniles, aged 14 and 16, were arrested on 13th October on the charge of murder of the hermit. Another alleged was arrested from the border of Dadeldhura and Baitadi based on information that they were lurking secretly. However, their identity has not been disclosed in accordance with Article 11 of the Children Act, 2018.
On October 8, the arrested boys who were drunk went to the deceased's cottage and one of the accused hit him with stone during an argument with him. The hermit, Uma Shankar Giri , tried to escape after being assaulted but the drunk juveniles followed the him and beat him to death by hitting with the stone.
