Kanta Prasad Giri of Yangwarak Rural Municipality-2 has attempted to inflict burn to his daughter-in-law via through a hot object by alleging her a witch.
According to the victim, Giri, on September 17, with help from his neighbor, Mahendra Prasad Poudel, tried to cause her harm, but she escaped from the hands of Poudel.
She now lives in the refuge of her family. The victim had filed a complaint in a nearby police office on October 14 but the police, as per the victim, have not shown eagerness towards the arrest of the accused. Police, however, said that they have launched a manhunt to nab the perpetrators.
