Police investigations have revealed that 33-year-old Jivan Kumar Thapa of Baahrabise Municipality-4 Palati was killed by his girlfriend Pratima BK, 20.
According to police, Pratima killed Thapa by strangling him with her trouser on October 18 in a fit of rage at Sunkoshi Municipality-7 Swara at a cottage belonging to Juna Karki. Thapa a married man is an excavator driver for Lamosanghu-Charikot Road Improvement project contractor Gauriparvati. Thapa and Pratima often used to stay in the cottage with the cottage owner, Karki's permission.
On the evening of October 18, the couple went to the cottage without the owner's permission. They started drinking and Thapa suddenly unclothed Pratima's trouser and jokingly put it around his neck, saying "I wan't to die". Pratima who was angered by Thapa's action slowly started twisting the trouser around Thapa's neck. They then went to sleep at around 10:00 pm. When Pratima tried to wake Thapa the next morning, she called Karki after he did not respond. The two then found that Thapa had died as a result of the strangulation and buried his body in a field.
Pratima revealed everything to police during police investigation and police are further investigating the incident, informed inspector Nawaraj Neupane.
