Rupandehi, Sudhar grahma yuvak ko hatya bhayeko daavi. Family of a youth has claimed that he died due to the beating by the employees of the Devdaha Fellowship Foundation. Ekraj Sharma Paudel, 23, of Karahiya VDC-8 died after he was beaten by the Rehab in-charge Sandeep Shrestha on December 4 morning, the family accused. Youths in the rehab said that he died when beaten by firewood after being tied in hand and feet inside a room. A youth staying in the same rehab, on condition of anonymity, said that Sandeep beats youth with wood inside the room everyday. Another youth said that though Ekraj escaped by jumping into the nearby pond, Sandeep caught him everytime and beat him. Ekraj who had reported of stomach pain following beating died after falling unconscious, it has been said. Proprietor of the Rehab Amrit Aryal had taken Ekraj to Devdaha Medical College; however, the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. Thought the Rehab operators ran away after the doctor pronounce him dead, locals and police arrested them later. DSP Raj Kumar Baidwar of the Area Police Office Butwal said that investigation had begun after arresting the accused.
