Police arrested a group after it came out that a businessman from Birtamod was abducted for a ransom of 40 lakh rupees.
According to Mohan Thapa, DSP of Area Police Office Anarmani, four people were arrested who were involved in the abduction of the businessman. The arrestees were 29-year-old Meraj Khan of Birtamod-4, 20-year-old Ritu Fiyak of Illam Fakfokthum-1, 27-year-old Sujan Shankar of Darjeling and 25-year-old Prakas Das.
The kidnappers made a naked video and demanded Rs 40 lakh ransom. They abducted the businessman on June 16 and were arrested by the Area Police Office, Birtamod on June 18.
