In recent times, Nepalese youth are increasingly attracted to the US, Europe and Canada for employment opportunities. Many youths have been cheated and stranded in other countries while trying to reach the USA. 

Five youths who wanted to migrate to the US via a broker or smuggler for employment were detained in Indonesia for the past nine months. They were traveling from Nepal on the basis of what the broker told them according to the Nepal Police Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau. 

They are currently in the custody of the Indonesian Immigration Police, according to the bureau.
