22-year-old Gauri Mahatara of Khandchakra Municipality-5 in Kalikot lodged a complaint against her neighbour 55-year-old Sur Karki on December 1 at District Police Office, accusing him of alleging her a witch and beating her.

Gauri also accused Karki of publicly insulting her and accusing her of killing his hen by "witchcraft". She sustained an injury on her back and hand in Karki's attack and underwent treatment at the district hospital. District Police Kalikot has started investigation into the incident by arresting the accused.
