The villagers of Mattim VDC-7 have boycotted the families of Jay Bahadur Khatri, 55, and Gambha Singh Bishta, 57, since December 14 pertaining to a minor dispute. Bishta said that the incident was prompted by minor dispute between his son Hirakaji Bishta, 22, and Renuka Khatri, 19, the daughter of local Arjun Khatri. Students of Saraswati Higher Secondary School, Hirakaji and Renuka had fought over the issue to guess paper on December 13 injuring Sanjiv KHatri, 18. He added that the locals, Man Bahadur Khatri, Kopila Khatri, Arjun Khatri, Shambhu Khatri and Dhan Bahadur Khatri had decided to boycott him in social functions and collective worshipping. Both families have gone to the district headquarters Diktel following the villagers’ action. District Police Office’s Inspector Durga Regmi said that a team of Mattim Area Police Office had been mobilized to deal with the issue as soon as the police were informed. DM
