An unidentified group torched an excavator in Gujara Municipality-3 of Rautahat on Thursday morning.

The excavator bearing plate number Ba 2 Kha 8954 which was being used in the construction of postal road was completely destroyed in the arson, according to police.

Police are yet to identify the group responsible for torching the vehicle. The vehicle belonged to Shrestha Dukuchhu Sanjibani Construction company which was contracted with building the postal road.

Police are investigating to establish further details of the incident.
