Taplejung/ December 18, The media organizations of Taplejung have expressed concern saying that two journalists were threatened by DSP Govinda Prasad Acharya of District Police Office. The press statement released by the media organizations on December 17 condemned the threat issued by the DSP over the news of misuse of government vehicle in a picnic published by journalist Rabin Bhattarai of Image TV and Dev Raj Gurung of ABC TV. The statement said that the DSP used abusive language while threatening the journalists. Various journalist organizations including, FNJ Taplejung, Indigenous Nationalities Federation Taplejung, Nepal Press Union, Press Chautari Nepal said that the threat was an attack on press freedom. The press release further urged not to mistreat journalist who are working freely within the ethics of journalism.
