Studies of Janjyoti Lower Secondary School at Tharmuse of Lekhparajul3 have been affected as students protesting alleged mistreatment by a teacher have padlocked the school six days ago.
Students are in confusion as the school has been closed while final examination is approaching. Students padlocked the school on February 3 alleging that Sher Bahadur Oli, a teacher at the school mistreated a fourteen year old girl student studying at grade six. The victim said that the accused teacher had been mistreating her by touching her private parts time and again. However, the alleged teacher has been denying the allegation. He said some parents have been using the girl to defame him.
School management committee said that the problem cannot be settled as the alleged teacher is not presenting when called for holding talks to settle the issue.
When asked about the incident, the district education office showed ignorance over the matter. The office has no information about the matter, district education officer, Ram Prasad Adhikari said.
