Kavre, balika hatya prakaran ma prahari surag bina. KAVRE: Even six months after a minor girl’s severed head and hand were found in a bag in Kavre, police are clueless the culprits involved in the crime. Police had found the body of a 12-year-old girl with in Nasikasthan of Kavre on Araniko Highway on June 5, following a local woman’s report about a suspicious bag. Bagmati Zonal Police Chief SSP Ramesh Kharel regretted and confessed his force’s failure to nab the culprits. “Our failure to find anything so far has further challenged our force.” He, however, said that they were coordinating with the central investigation bureau (CIB) and expressed his suspicion that the girl might have been murdered in eastern Tarai and some of her body parts might have been thrown in Kavre. The recovered head and the arms of the girl have been kept in TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj. Police had investigated 18,000 calls, but in vain, which has further slackened the pace of investigation. “We were hopeful that we would arrest the criminal with the call details report, but failed to do so,” said an official involved in the probe. He also said Kavre police didn’t show any interest in the investigation. However, Kavre SP Arun BC said investigation into the case was on. Besides using sniffer dogs, Kavre police have sent the girl’s hair style, head sketch, and complexion to all concerned units and stakeholders to help in the investigation, but police remain clueless till date.
