The learning and teaching activities of students were affected due to the educational strike called by the group of Netra Bikram Chand. The strike was called protesting the arrest of one of the group's cadres while celebrating the People's Movement day.

Most of the educational institutions of Kathmandu were closed which affected students and their parents. Students studying in colleges and campuses stated that they didn't attend their classes due to the rumors. 

The government and the concerned organizations had declared 'School Peace Zone' in 2065 BS. The Chand group has closed schools four times in the name of an educational strike during the current academic session due to its political demands.
