Sharmila Khadka, 19, of Laphyang VDC-2 has lodged a complaint against her husband Ranjan Khadka, 20, at the District Police Office on January 8 on charge of polygamy. The victim complained that she was compelled to lodge the complaint against her husband after he married another woman Bhim Kumari Khatri, 14, of Bamrang VDC-8 on December 14 despite having her and her 4-month old daughter. The victim was married to Ranjan 2 years ago as per social tradition. SI Yadav Gautam of District Police Office, Diktel, said that the accused would be prosecuted. He further said that both the accused are at large.
