A case of child marriage against Kishor Baniya, 58, of Hyumat Tole in Kathmandu Metropolis-12 saying he had married a 16-year-old girl of Chauratha VDC. Mahila Sashaktikaran Manch (Women Empowerment Forum) had filed that case at District Police Office on January 10. Sunita Chand, a member of MSM said that Baniya had married the girl at Mankamana Temple in Gorkha on December 31, 2013. The girl said that she had dialed wrong in Baniya’s mobile phone about eight months ago and after that Baniya continued to call back. Chand filed the case asking for necessary legal action for marrying an underage girl alluring her. ASI Sushobhan Shrestha of District Police Office said that due legal course will be taken if this is proved as a child marriage.
