It was revealed on January 10 that she was beaten to death by her husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law after she did not bring money for the family which was constructing a house. One of the accused, mother-in-law Laxminaya Devi has been arrested by police while husband Rambali and father-in-law Makhan Sahani remain at large. Married to Rambali two years ago, Khusbu had come home from her maternal home in Jitbhawanipur VDC-3 two months ago. Inspectr Ramnath Ghimire informed that she was killed on January 1. The body was recovered at the banks of Bhutahi River in Bariyarpur VDC-7 on January 4.
