There was a clash between the cadres of Nepali Congress and Janata Samajbadi Party in the evening of 4 May 2020 at Nagarain Municipality-5. This clash has injured seven people in total.
The incident took place after the headlight of an electric-rickshaw belonging to Rabindra Mandal was stolen on 28 April. Mandal accused Santosh Das, a cadre of Janata Samajbadi Party residing in the same village of stealing the headlight and seized his mobile phone. This politicized the entire incident.
After the clash, Santosh Das (25), Raj Kishore Das (23) and Hari Kishore Das (35) of Janata Samajbadi Party were injured, likewise, Jaya Narayan Mandal (35), Santosh Mandal (40), Gopal Mandal (42) and Ram Naresh Mandal (37) of Nepali Congress were injured.
Some of them were treated in the local hospital and some were treated at the Provincial Hospital of Janakpur.
The District Police Office has arrested Ram Naresh Mandal, Gopal Mandal, Rahul Mandal and Jaya Narayan Mandal for investigation after they were found involved in the clash, informed District Police Office Dhanusha’s DSP Rameshwor Karki.
