The District Court has released four persons, who had assaulted Mohan Maya Shrestha, 68, of Kadambas VDC-1 on charge of being witch, on bail. Mishri Maya Shrestha, 28, Nanda Maya Shrestha, 46, Lok Bahadur Shrestha, 61, and Juju Man Shrestha, 64, of Kadambas VDC-1 were released after they deposited a bail amount of Rs 30 thousand each. They had assaulted Mohan Maya on February 4 leaving her injured. She received treatment at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal, Kathmandu the next day. The victim filed a complaint against them at the District Police Office on February 8. Police had arrested them on February 10. The victim was beaten after shaman Juju Man accused Mohan Maya of bewitching Mishri Maya.
