Manju Devi Sada, 30, of Manihar Parsahi in Dandha VDC-8 has been injured in physical attack by her in-laws and neighbors around 11 pm on February 23. Her brother-in-law Ram Narayan, 26, his wife Ranju Devi, 23, along with the neighbors Bhola Sada, 50, Chandeshwar Sada, 40, and his wife Goraki Sada, 35, beat her up as she was sleeping at her home on charge of being a witch, the victim said. Manju’s husband, Phenku Sada, 35, said that his wife was attacked by the accusing saying that she had cast spell on Shilu Kumari, 17, the daughter of local Dhanku Sada causing her loose her sanity. The victim is undergoing treatment at Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital, Rajbiraj. According to Balram Yadav aka Bali, the marketing manager at Divine Health Care Hospital in Lahan Municipality-3 and fellow villager of the victim, she had been assaulted several times on the same charge in the past.
