Khotang,Vidhyalaya band garayera schoolle baalbaalikako prayog. ANNISU-R has shut down Saraswati Higher Secondary School in Diktel on February 14 to organize their assembly. The assembly was organized on the occasion of ANNISU-R's 14rh district convention. Though, the Convention on Rights of the Children prohibits use of schools and students in political issues, the ANNISU-R went ahead with the choice overlooking other available public places. Himal Sharma of ANNISU-R opened the convention where the children were made to carry the organization flags and chant slogans. When asked, ANNISU-R district coordinator Tej Kumar Shrestha aka Bibek accepted that they had used the children but did not make them carry the flags. He further said that the program was held in the school as it was organized by the students. NHRC sub-regional office Khotang's acting chief Loknath Ghimire commented that the incident had violated the children's rights. DEO Bal Krishna Chapagain said that his office had not permitted the organizers to shut the school.
