Police post vandalized in Rukum West

A group led by Deepak KC, Ward Chairperson of Musikot Municipality-13, Rukum West vandalized a temporary police post of Musikot Municipality-14 at 8 pm on Tuesday. 

Ward chairman KC, who came on a motorcycle, started a fight with police saying that the police delayed in removing the road blockade used at the check post. 20/25 youths came and vandalized the police post. They vandalized the check post, and police post by bringing bamboo shoots and other materials from the locals' houses. Dhan Bahadur Saud, Assistant Inspector and in-charge of the post, said they vandalized the chairs, objects used to stop vehicles and pelted stones at the post. Saud has reached the district to lodge a complaint against the incident. 

A joint team of District Police Office, Police Post Solawang, and Police Post Simli reached Chiwang immediately after the incident.  Police searched all night but could not find the ward chairman and others involved in the attack.

Hari Bahadur Oli, Inspector of the District Police Office, said that most of the equipment at the post was damaged.
