Dhangadi, Balatkaar ko ghatana melapatra ko prayas Family of CP Goyal, 26, of Sittad VDC-2 in Baitadi and neighbors have exerted pressure on a 17-year-old girl to settle the case of rape attempt on her in village. According to police, the accused, who tried to rape her while she was staying in the district headquarters in course of preparation of her SLC examinations, is absconding after the incident. The victim said that the family of accused has been pressuring her repeatedly to settle the case which has affected her studies. She had filed the complaint against him at the District Police Office in Baitadi on January 29. The DPO said that the district government attorney had presented the case at the District Court on March 4 after police submitted investigation report on February 23. Search for the accused is underway after the court ordered to search for his extending 20 days remand, police said.
