Bharat Bhatta, a sub-engineer of Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality, beat Nawaraj Lamichhane, a construction entrepreneur, in a public place in Dhawa of Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality-4 on Thursday saying that he was not given a job during the planning process.
Eyewitness Prakash Singh Chhetri informed that Lamichhane sustained a serious head injury. Bhatta demanded to use his tractor to transport construction materials during the construction of drainage in the local Kashikhola Bhagwati but the Consumers' Committee gave the responsibility to Lamichhane. Bhatta had been warning not to pass the project as he could not find work.
According to Chhetri, Lamichhane was hit on the head by a stone at the meeting convened by the Consumers' Committee for discussion after Sub-Engineer Bhatta started driving a tractor over the drainage trying to demolish it at night.
