A 57-year-old man from Malarani rural municipality-4 who died on Wednesday has tested positive for COVID-19.
The man had returned from India on May 27 and was in the quarantine facility in the rural municipality.
Dr. Rajendra Khanal, Medical Superintendent of Lumbini Provincial Hospital, informed that he was brought to Butwal on Tuesday after suffering from respiratory problems, however, he was returned to Arghakhanchi on the same day. "His relatives took him away in the ambulance after they were told that he should be treated in isolation at the Lumbini Provincial Hospital," he said.
Bal Krishna Acharya, Chairperson of Malarani Rural Municipality, informed that the body was kept in the village without cremation till the report came due to suspicion of corona infection as he had returned from Mumbai.
Local obstructed the burial of the deceased after Chairperson Acharya confirmed that the deceased had tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.
