Four Dalit kids of Rajgadh Rural Municipality-4, on June 11, have been publically beaten with a stick as per the decision of a village Panchayat. Those beaten are 15,16,17 and 18 years old. The village Panchayat fined them two thousand and five hundred rupees and directed to beat them 11 times with a bamboo stick and as they had allegedly stolen the pumping set. The Dalit kids were beaten at the presence of the ward chairperson and the deputy chairperson of the rural municipality, among others. The poor, Dalits, women and minorities were still being oppressed in the name of Panchayat in the villages, said one local.
