Nepali Congress and Janata Samajwadi Party staged separate demonstrations in Kalaiya of Bara against the bill introduced by the government that recommends awarding naturalized citizenship to foreigner women married to Nepali man only after 7 years. They are demanding the scrapping of the bill citing that the bill was targeted towards Madhesi community which has very high rate of cross-border marriage with India.
