Demonstrations have taken place in Rautahat demanding the repeal of the proposed bill to grant naturalized citizenship to a foreign woman marrying a Nepali citizen after seven years.

A demonstration against the bill was organized by Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSP) and Nepali Congress in Rautahat.

The protestors alleged that the government had dared to sever ties with India by passing the bill in a conspiratorial manner.

 They have protested saying that the bill is discriminatory.
